Fall weekends in Washington, DC are always full of activities. From street festivals to taking trip out to Virginia’s wine country, here are some of the very cool things you can do in Washington, DC this weekend!
It’s Festival Season!
On Saturday, Sept 20th from noon to 6:00p.m. head over to H St, NE for the H Street Festival which was created as part of the revitalization strategy to bring attention to the developing arts and entertainment district spanning 10 blocks of H Street NE. This year's festival is bigger and better than ever featuring more than 500 artists and performances on 14 stages plus an array of local, regional and international cuisine, shopping, arts exhibits, educational events, seminars and conversations with local entrepreneurs, artists and community organizations.
Get a Vegucation
Become vegucated at the DC Veg Fest on Saturday from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. at Yards Park. Hosted by Compassion over Killing, a national nonprofit animal protection organization based in Washington, DC the annual festival offers a taste of a wide variety of veg-friendly foods!
Dogs in Costumes!
We love anything pet-friendly at The Jefferson so naturally, one of our can’t-miss events this weekend is the third annual Wiener 500 Dachshund Races. The race, open to dachshunds only takes place on Saturday from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. outside of the Regan Building on 1300 Pennsylvania Ave and proceeds from the event benefit the Washington Humane Society. Did we mention there’s also a best costume contest open to all dogs?
Of course, the best way to end a day of festivals and dog races is back at The Jefferson for a cocktail in Quill! We look forward to celebrating the fall with you!
