Memorial Day is just one week away! Still haven’t planned what to do with that extra day off? Take a few tips from DC’s most awarded hotel!

Destination DC is a great one stop shop for all things Memorial Day. Check out their list of events to help you make plans! Options include the Memorial Day Parade on Constitution Avenue and the National Memorial Day Concert at the US Capitol. Many people will also visit the Arlington Cemetery to pay their respects to fallen soldiers.

Time to pick a side
To celebrate the hit Broadway show Hamilton coming to Washington DC, we’ve set up a special tour and history program to learn more about Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton – the ultimate frenemies! Alexander Hamilton and Jefferson became great rivals while part of George Washington’s cabinet, constantly butting heads while in cabinet meetings because of their contrasting personalities and leadership styles. We’ve created a comprehensive map to track what each founding father achieved during their time in the capital. For more information about this rivalry and tour, click here.

Make some museum stops!
Stop by the multiple Smithsonian museums on the National Mall while out and about in the city! The Air and Space Museum is a particularly interesting and interactive one for families with children. The No Spectators exhibition at the Renwick Gallery is also popular choice as it has sculptures in the gallery and also around the neighborhood.
