Plume — One of Washington D.C.'s finest restaurants

We are proud to announce that the Plume wine list has been awarded a "2010 Best of Award of Excellence" by Wine Spectator magazine and highest Zagat rating in Washington D.C.  Food 26, Service 29, Ambience 29.

One of the finest restaurants in the capital, Plume serves as a discreet and elegant backdrop to the culinary artistry of our award-winning executive chef, Chris Jakubiec.

Choose a cozy nook or a table by our inviting fireplace as you savor classic dishes expertly executed by Chef Chris with lighter, contemporary finishing touches that appeal to today's enlightened palates.

Chef Chris draws on the traditional techniques to create seasonal restaurant menus that are also inspired by the harvest from Thomas Jefferson's kitchen gardens at Monticello.

A hand-painted mural of Monticello’s south vineyard graces the walls of Plume, evoking Thomas Jefferson’s passion for cultivating, collecting and enjoying fine wines. This lifelong pastime is also reflected in our impressive wine cellar of more than 1,300 labels. Presided over by sommelier Michael Scaffidi, formerly of French Laundry, Plume’s wine list spans more than a dozen nationalities and dates back to a rare 1780 Borges Madeira Bual. Among the more than 50 vintages are those Jefferson himself enjoyed in his time as well as newer wines he might select were he alive today.

Providing the final flourish to this unforgettable dining experience is service as discreet as it is attentive, and always informed.

Below are examples of the current Plume menus, which will change with the seasons and to incorporate the currently available, freshest ingredients.

Quill — the art of the cocktail

Enjoy an expertly poured drink and fine conversation at Quill, our elegant lounge, whose house-made mixers and herbal-infused alcohols have enlightened the cocktail culture of Washington, D.C.

The inspired "mix" of classic concoctions and signature drinks are paired with a dynamic wine list and a unique collection of specialty spirits, providing a true taste of everything Quill has to offer.

Quill's lounge interior is steeped in Jeffersonian inspiration. Its parquet flooring recreates the pattern Jefferson designed for Monticello's main salon, while a collection of 18th-century maps on the walls follow Jefferson's journey through the wine regions of France, Germany and Italy. In warmer weather, you are welcome to step out onto the outdoor terrace to savor cigars and cognacs.
